The data storage method allows a host computer to communicate with the semiconductor memory via an address bus, a data bus and control lines for data storage and read out, with individual correction and function selection data programmed in the memory during the manufacturing process so that the data recorded in a memory cell array and a redundant memory cell array corresponds. An Independent claim for a semiconductor memory device is also included.
