A baby playpen-bassinet comprises a bassinet 200 being detachably mounted onto the frame of playpen 100. The playpen framework 100 comprises a series of corner blocks 140a to 140d and rods 110, 120, 130 connected to each other. Each of the corner blocks 140a to 140d are provided with a vertical hole (148) with vertically extending rib (150), whereby the holes (148) are in receipt with coupling members 250. Each coupling member 250 has a first portion (252) to be inserted into the hollow end portion (216a) of the supporting rod 216, and a second portion (256) having a vertically extending groove (260). The second portion (256) is adapted to be inserted into the vertical hole (148) of the corner block with the groove (260) engaging the rib (150).
