PURPOSE: To detect the angle at which a target exists with accuracy irrespective of distance while there is an interference due to a multipass reflected wave (wave reflected back by the ground or the sea surface and received) by providing means for generating sum signals, for generating differential signals, for performing complex division, for computing the center of a circle, and for converting angles. ;CONSTITUTION: The outputs of receiving antennas 6a, 6b are inputted to a sum signal generation means 7 which outputs sum components and to a differential signal generation means 8 which outputs differential components, and the outputs of the means 7, 8 are inputted to a complex division means 13 via a variety of means. A first input value preservation means 15 preserves an observed value until four complex numbers, i.e., the outputs of the means 13, are inputted, and then outputs the four complex numbers simultaneously. A first circle center computation means 16 interpolates the four observed values, i.e., the outputs of the means 14 in a specific equation to calculate the center of a circle and output its value. An angle conversion means 17 calculates a target elevation angle from the above outputs by referencing a predefined relational expression of the specific equation, and outputs the angle. The calculations can be made strict, the angle can be measured with accuracy even at a long distance, and arithmetic is so simple that amplitude control is not necessary.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
