PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film-like pressure-sensitive adhesive capable of improving initial adhesion to a slightly adhesive adherend, relatively easily peeling even when adhesive layers are mutually brought into contact and improving operating efficiency when used as a surface protective material without deteriorating essential advantages of a pressure-sensitive adhesive consisting essentially of an isobutylene-based polymer.;SOLUTION: This method for producing the surface-modified film-like pressure-sensitive adhesive is characterized by carrying out interfacial contact reaction of the surface of a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer consisting essentially of the isobutylene-based polymer and having reactive functional groups with a thin layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive consisting essentially of an acrylic polymer and having the reactive functional groups reactive with the reactive functional groups. Thereby, the thin layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive consisting essentially of the acrylic polymer is fixed to the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer consisting essentially of the isobutylene polymer through chemical bonds.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
