PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a casting rate of casting slip for pottery capable of evaluating an actually measured value without being affected by various conditions of molds used in measuring the casting rate and an instrument for testing the casting rate.;SOLUTION: The method for measuring the casting rate of the casting slip for pottery to be used for evaluating the casting rate which is one item of body characteristics comprises molding a test body by pressurizing a specified amount of the casting slip for pottery for a prescribed time by means of air of a specified pressure to forcibly cast the slip on a filter medium, then calculating the casting rate from the measured value of the test body thickness. The filter medium is preferably filter paper having the pore diameter smaller than the particle diameter of the body particles of the pottery.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
