PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing and sterilizing box for performing deodorization and sterilization at the same time by use of ozone.;SOLUTION: This ozone generating type deodorizing and sterilizing box comprises a sealed box body having a front opening and a door for closing the opening, an ozone generator housed in a partitioned section formed in the inner part or the outside upper part of the box, and a control means for performing the stoppage of the ozone generator and the operating thereof for a prescribed time according to the opening and closing of the door, so that the ozone generated in the ozone generator is carried into the housing space of the box body through an air port formed in the partitioning section. The ozone generator may be set on the outside upper part of the box, and an ultraviolet lamp may be used. Further, various modifications such as providing of a light shielding plate for preventing the leak of ultraviolet ray to the box housing space or an indicator light for operation of the ozone generator, or interposition of a proper seal member such as magnet rubber on the door can be conceived.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
