PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a general type button hole sewing machine by CNC control in which a spread range can be set by an operator so as to follow each sewing condition with a minimum consumption time without other help.;SOLUTION: The button hole sewing machine is formed with a clamp (17a, 17b) for clamping a workpiece provided with a sliding drive for dislocating the clamp (17a, 17b) from an initial spread position to a final spread position by a spread length. The sliding drive is a positioning motor which is assigned to the clamp (17b) for clamping the workpiece. A control unit is equipped with a data storage part which stores data with which the clamp (17b) for clamping the workpiece is dislocated by a predetermined spread length.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
