THE INVENTION RELATES TO A METHOD FOR DESIGNING A FUZZY CONTROLLER, IN WHICH IN A LEARNING PHASE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE INPUT AND OUTPUT VARIABLES (E1, E2, Y) ARE RECORDED ON A MODEL CONTROL LOOP OR DURING OPERATOR OPERATION, MEMBERSHIP FUNCTIONS ARE POSITIONED FOR THE LINGUISTIC VALUES (K, M, G) ON THE CLUSTER POINTS OF THE MEASURED LEARNING DATA BY CLUSTERING, IN AN EVALUATION PHASE THE COMBINATIONS OCCURRING OF THE LINGUISTIC VALUES (K, G) ARE DETERMINED FOR CORRESPONDING MEASURED VALUES OF THE INPUT AND OUTPUT VARIABLES (E1, E2, Y), AND IN A SYNTHESIS THE RULES OF THE CONTROL MECHANISM FOR GENERATING THESE COMBINATIONS ARE DETERMINED.
