The present invention provides novel DNA sequences, recombinant DNA (rDNA)molecules, processes for producingnovel T-cell proteins expressed in T-cell development, the novel T-cellproteins in substantially pure farm and antibodies whichbind to the novel proteins. More particularly, it relates to novel DNAsequences expressed in appropriate host and the novel T-cell proteins produced in these hosts. The present invention also providesnovel transmembrane proteins in substantially pureform, rDNA molecules encoding said transmembrane proteins and processes forproducing the novel transmembrane proteins.The DNA sequences and recombinant DNA molecules of this invention arecharacterized in that they are expressed by T lym-phoma cells and have at least one of the following characteristics: (1) isexpressed in normal thymus, activated spleen cells, ar gutassociated lymphoid tissue. (2) is expressed in ovarian tissue, normal liverand/or in a stage specific manner in embryonic devel-opment and (3) encode novel transmembrane proteins having multiple membranespanning domains.
