A system for inserting cores of web material for re-winding machines, comprising a guide (2) on which the cores (1, 1') are made to roll and pushed into a winding cradle formed between a set of three cylinders (6, 7, 8) by rollers (4) of an inserting arm (3) connected to a second arm (10) driven by a cam (12), in which the inserting arm (3) is hinged on an eccentric body (9) so that, according to the diameter of the core (1, 1'), a rotation of said eccentric body (9) causes the position of the axis of the rollers (4) to vary, so that they always act on the midline of the core (1, 1'), irrespective of its diameter.
