The invention relates to a method for finishing a transition of a Kunststoffzier- -schutzleiste and into an adjacent surface element, preferably plate of a piece of furniture. Such an improved process should be accessible to a machine through feed processing. For this, a supernatant of the Kunststoffzier- and -schutzleiste with respect to an adjacent portion of the planar element to a large extent eliminated by machining. Then, at least the machined, provided with white fracture face of the Kunststoffzier- and -schutzleiste is wetted with a multi-component lubricant oil with high creep and then removed the remaining residual supernatant with roller brushes and brushed a smooth transition from planar element and Kunststoffzier- and -schutzleiste.
