PURPOSE: A display device is provided to realize both of the high resolution and the low resolution in a cost effective manner by applying a high voltage deflection circuit which is used in a low resolution display device to a high resolution display device. CONSTITUTION: A driving circuit for a display device has a trans(1), a high voltage sensing unit(2) for sensing the secondary voltage of the trans(1), a high voltage compensation unit(3) for outputting the high voltage compensation signals on the basis of the high voltage sensing unit(2), a DC voltage control unit(5) for controlling the DC voltage dimension in accordance with the high voltage compensation signals and transmitting the controlled voltage to the first coil of the trans(1), and a horizontal deflection unit(9) for generating the horizontal deflection pulse upon receipt of the DC voltage. The winding ratio of the first coil of the trans to the secondary coil is controlled by a winding ratio control unit(4). In case the horizontal synchronization signals applied from the video card is smaller than the reference value of a predetermined low resolution, the winding ratio control unit is controlled by a control unit(8) such that the DC voltage output from the DC voltage control unit(5) is elevated to be higher than the lower value.
