PURPOSE: A flux having low melting points for BOF refining using low manganese hot metal is provided. CONSTITUTION: The flux is consist of complex oxides of MnO-FeO-SiO2, wherein the flux comprises 10 to 30 wt.% of MnO, 30 to 40 wt.% of SiO2, and 40 to 50 wt.% of FeO, and its grain size is less than 2 mm. The method for BOF refining using low manganese hot metal is characterized in that the flux is poured into hot metal in an amount of 5 to 10 kg/thot metal when decarburization is processed to 40-60 % and the flux has a melting point of 1250 to 1300 deg.C.
