The present invention relates to a device for filling a sterile container consisting of an extended but narrow sterilization zone equipped with a plurality of actuators. The elongated vertical bulkheads are carried by the elongated frame and the cabinet-like enclosure forms a sterile area with the vertical bulkheads. The plurality of actuators are mounted in a sequential relationship in the length of the sterilization zone, and the extended container conveyor is mounted in the sterilization zone to carry the containers to the plurality of openings. The conveyor consists of endless belts mounted vertically and mounted on end wheels which rotate on a horizontal axis. Each actuation portion includes an actuation portion mounted in a sterilization zone. Activation means are included for each of the actuating units as well as for the extended conveyor, each mounted outside the sterilization zone. The connecting means operatively connect each activation means outside the sterilization zone through the vertical wall with the associated actuator in the sterilization zone. By directing the conveyor vertically and mounting various activation means in a lateral relationship outside the sterilization zone, the effective width of the sterilization zone is significantly reduced. As a result, access to the sterilization zone becomes easier, and drainage after the cleaning operation becomes easier. In addition, the reduced sterilization zone makes the device easier to manufacture and maintains sterilization easily.
