The method involves using boundary layer transitions between moving material and vacuum in the earth's gravitational field. This reduces the frequency so an electromagnetic measurement signal repeatedly passes with a selectable factor through a resonance chamber with at least two sections. One section consists of e.g. glass or gas and the other of a vacuum. A reference signal is used in a resonance chamber with no boundary layer transitions.
