The method involves emitting puff of slow moving atoms from a source (1) along a constant acceleration direction and opposite to the direction, during the presence of a gravitational field. The atoms are manipulated in a coherent manner at successive locations at their paths (tr) with separations. The variation of the state of the atoms is detected, where the variation is representative of a rotation of an axis. An independent claim is also included for an inertial magnitude measurement apparatus.
