One strap (1) is connected to the helmet before and behind each of the ears, forming a loop guided around a bridge (22) located at a sliding element (2). Both ends (31) of the chin strap (3) are guided around a second bridge (24) at the sliding element (2) from below and are locked by a movable transversally positioned element (23). The chin strap (3) can be adjusted by pulling at the loose ends (31), the v-shaped loops (1) by moving the sliding elements (2) along the straps (1).
