PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decomposition method for a gel-like substance produced at the time of synthesis of cyclosiloxane, not accompanying the use of an alkali at a high temperature, having good handleability and generating no hydrogen.;SOLUTION: The decomposition method for the gel-like substance produced at the time of synthesis of cyclosiloxane is characterized by using a mixture of an orthoester such as an orthomethy ester, an alcohol, water and an acid catalyst such as an active hydrogen group-containing compound such as a carboxylic acid, sulfuric acid or, hydrochloric acid.
