PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the acceleration and the speed without changing a servo mechanism of a machining center. ;SOLUTION: A machining center 1 is provided with a work unit 30 and a tool unit 60 to be arranged opposite to each other on a bed 10. A work head 50 of the work unit 30 is controlled in movement along three axes, and holds a work in a downward direction. A tool head 80 of the tool unit 60 is also controlled in movement along three axes, and the work held by the work head 50 is machined by a tool T fitted to a spindle 90. A servo mechanism of each unit moves two heads simultaneously in the direction opposite to each other at the same acceleration and speed by the same distance. The work and the tool are moved at the doubled relative acceleration and speed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
