PURPOSE: To attain adjusting a skew even when the amount of variation is large by shortening a tact time for adjusting the skew. ;CONSTITUTION: A laser beam outgoing from a semiconductor laser in an optical pickup device 40, transmitting through an objective lens 52 in the optical pickup device 40 and the objective lens 11, totally reflected by a total reflection mirror 12 and transmitting through a half mirror 13, a half mirror 16, a half mirror 18 and an eyepiece 20 is photographed by a camera 21 for adjusting the skew. Further, the laser beam reflected by the half mirror 16 is photographed by a camera 17 for searching the beam. By a computer 22 for control, a skew adjusting driver 24 provided with a skew adjusting motor is pulse driven so that the light and dark of interference rings occurring on the periphery of the laser beam photographed by the camera 21 for adjusting the skew become uniform to rotate a skew adjusting vis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
