A method for determining the presence of Papillomatous Digital Dermatitis (PDD) antigen in a sample of ruminant serum comprising contacting said sample with an antibody, reacting with Seroens spp. bacterin under conditions capable of binding PDD antigen with an antibody forming antigen/antibody complex, and detecting antigen in said sample based on detection of the antigen/antibody complex.
