A method for preparing a cover for a meat product comprises preparing a first fine mesh cover (1), preparing a second coarse mesh cover (2), applying the first cover over the second cover or vice versa and gluing the two covers together. An independent claim is also included for a method for enclosing a meat product by pressing minced or finely cut meat into a first fine mesh woven or knitted cover enclosed by and glued to a second coarse mesh woven or knitted cover.
