The invention relates to a seam tracking sensor (1) for welding robots used for tracking a processing track on workpieces. Said seam tracking sensor (1) comprises a sensor tip (2) that is in contact with the workpiece and measuring means for recording the deviation from the processing track. In order to create such a seam tracking sensor (1) with a very simple and compact structure, a previously known strain gauge sensor (5) for at least one measuring element (11) is connected to the sensor tip (2) in order to form a bending beam (15) such that an elastic deformation of the bending beam (15) can be recorded by means of the at least one measuring element (11). The bending beam (15) is mounted in a springy manner and/or is embodied in an intrinsically springy manner.
