PURPOSE: Provided is a synthetic tanned pigskin suitable for a tip attached to the top end of a billiard cue, which causes a billiard ball to move by a desired distance at a desired direction by transferring impact applied from a player directly to the ball. CONSTITUTION: The synthetic tanned pigskin is prepared by the method comprising the steps of: (a) mixing and reacting 100 parts by weight of chrome-tanned pigskin, 100 parts by weight of water and 40-80 parts by weight of plant concentrate at 30-80 deg.C under pH of 3.5-4.5 for about 6-24 hours; (b) adding 10-30 parts by weight of a synthetic tanning agent based on 100 parts by weight of the chrome-tanned pigskin, increasing the pH of the reaction mixture to pH 6-7, and further reacting them for 3-10 hours; (c) decreasing the pH to pH 3.5-4.5, and standing the reaction container 12-28 hours to form a coating layer; and (d) adding 10-30 parts by weight of sodium sulfate based on 100 parts by weight of the chrome-tanned pigskin, and reacting them to obtain strong and firm pigskin.
