PURPOSE: A method for designing a semiconductor IC device integrating memories and logic circuits on the same semiconductor chip is provided to quickly design the semiconductor device matched with a memory capacity or a sort of an operation circuit, freely change the memory capacity, and implement a memory macro having small overhead and the memory macro fit to design an ASIC(Application Specific IC). CONSTITUTION: A database stores design data such as memory cores having data transfer lines and the different memory capacity, a transfer circuit module group fit to a pitch of the data transfer lines of the memory core, a logic library comprising basic gate for composing the logic circuit, and layouts/specifications/features. If the specification of an LSI(Large Scale IC) is given, design is performed by transferring the needed data to a workstation from the database.
