A laser beam uses a fiber optic wave-guide (LWL) to reach into a feed branch (2.2), in which there is a collimating lens (2.21). A beam splitter (2.4) guides the laser beam into a processing branch of a processing head (2). This branch has a protective glass and a focussing lens (2.11) to focus the laser beam on a work piece (3) where e.g. two components are being welded together.
