SYSTEM FOR TRANSFERRING GLYCEMIC DATA BETWEEN HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND DIABETIC PATIENTS, ESPECIALLY IN MOBILITY SITUATIONS

The invention relates to a glycemic data transfer system comprising a glycemic data reading device (1) which can be used to obtain glycemic data from a diabetic patient. According to the invention, said glycemic reading device (1) is provided with a short-range communication port (11) which is called the first communication port. The inventive system also comprises a personal digital assistant (2), said assistant being equipped with a short-range communication port (21) which is called the second communication port and which can co-operate with the first communication port (11). The aforementioned personal digital assistant (2) also comprises means of retrieving glycemic data from the glycemic data reading device (1) and telecommunication means using a mobile telephone network (3), said means being intended to: (i) transmit the retrieved glycemic data to at least one health professional; and (ii) exchange messages between the health professional and the diabetic patient. Moreover, the inventive system comprises a consultation server (4) including (a) means of storing the patient's glycemic data supplied by said personal digital assistant (2), (b) means of sending messages to the diabetic patient and (c) means of sending messages to the health professional. The invention is suitable for use in the treatment of the pathology of diabetes.
