The blank for making a carton for transporting flowers comprises a base (60) connected by folds to two side sheets (58, 59). These have two longitudinal creases and their edge sections overlap when the carton is assembled to form two of its walls. Sections (60, 61) which connect their bases are folded to form sealing flaps at the bases of the carton walls. Independent claimA are included for: (a) a machine for assembling the carton from the blank; and (b) a method for assembling it.
