The inlet air distributor for a Diesel engine cylinder head with open (8) and variable flow (9) ducts feeding the combustion chambers consists of a housing (5) containing a rotary tube (10) with ports (11) that allow the air swirl in the combustion chambers to be regulated. Each of the tube ports is in a reverse L-shape, allowing the air flow through the variable flow ducts to be regulated while the open duct stays free. The distributor can be made separate from the cylinder head and mounted on it, or it can be cast in one piece with the cylinder head.
