The engine has an air inlet system (2) connected to a combustion chamber (3). An intake air regulation system (20) has a Peltier effect cell (21), an intake air temperature measuring unit (22), and a control unit (23). The Peltier effect cell permits to increase or decrease the temperature of the intake air (7) in the inlet of the combustion chamber to regulate the temperature of the intake air. An independent claim is also included for a method to control an engine.
