PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standby power reduction method and a standby power reduction apparatus for transmitting standby power from a control circuit to a remote controller and preventing functions of the remote controller from being lost.;SOLUTION: The control circuit or the remote controller controls a control device and the control circuit supplies power to the remote controller. Further, the standby power reduction apparatus transmits the power resulting from repeating power application and power interference at a prescribed interval to the remote controller via a communication circuit. Since the power resulting from repeating power application and power interference at a prescribed interval and transmitted via the communication circuit is converted into a constant voltage by a microcomputer in the remote controller, the power for the interruption period can be saved in the control circuit.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
