PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a plant body delaying flower bud formation (plant body having delayed flower bud formation) is simply produced in a short period by repressing transcription of a gene.;SOLUTION: A chimeric protein that is prepared by fusion of a transcription factor such as ERL1 {ERF [ethylene responsive element binding factor {EREBP (ethylene responsive element binding protein)/AP2}] related late flowering factor 1}, ERL2 (ERF related late flowering factor 2) and ERL3 (ERF related late flowering factor 3) in the ERF (EREBP/AP2) transcription factor family which is a transcription factor group controlling the environmental response or morphogenesis in a plant to a functional peptide converting an optional transcription factor into a transcriptional repressor is produced in the plant body.
