PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Magnus type wind power generating device capable of efficiently generating power by setting an average torque value during power generation at the rated rotating speed of rotary cylinder blades and at rated wind speed, as a target, and controlling a drive motor for rotating the rotary cylinder blades, at rotating speed indicating the average torque value according to the increase/decrease of wind speed. PSOLUTION: This Magnus type wind power generating device is constituted by radially journaling the required number of independently rotating rotary cylinder blades 5 to a rotor 4 integral with a horizontal rotating shaft 3 of a power generating mechanism part 2, and joining the drive motor 12 to a base part of each rotary cylinder blade 5. A rotation control part 23 is connected to the drive motor 12, and a torque detecting part 22 is connected to the horizontal rotating shaft 3. Both parts 22, 23 are electrically connected by an electric control part. In addition, the rotary cylinder blades 5 are joined to the rotor 4 so as to be expansible in the axis direction.
