PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a lead frame wherein the manufacturing cost is reduced, leads are not easily deformed when a lead frame stripe is cut into rectangular leadframes, and the material is not wasted in this process, to provide a lead frame manufactured by this method, and to provide a photocoupling device using the lead frame.;SOLUTION: When a lead frame stripe is cut into rectangular lead frames, the cutting is performed so that the length of protrusion from the tie bar of the cut ends of a longitudinal pair of side rails is longer than the length of protrusion from the tie bar of lead terminals. Since the length of protrusion at the cut ends of the side rails is longer than the length of protrusion of the lead terminals, the lead terminals are protected by the protruding parts of the side rails, and this suppresses the occurrence of lead deformation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
