PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating agent for fibers comprising components collected from natural plants as active components and imparting moisture retention and anti-staining properties to natural fibers, regenerated fibers, semi-synthetic fibers, synthetic fibers or composite fiber materials thereof.;SOLUTION: The treating agent for the fibers comprises one or two or more kinds of extracts selected from extracts collected from Rubiae Radix, Polygalae Radix, Sennae Folium, Cassia torosa Cav. or Arecae Semen. The moisture retention of the fiber material is related to moisture retention effects on skin and further related to effects on prevention of skin roughening and reduction of allergies. Anti-staining properties can be imparted to the fiber material by the treating agent for the fibers. Oils and fats, etc., can readily be removed by washing the fiber material with a detergent containing a lipase when the treated fiber material is stained with the oils and fats, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
