PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical control device customization method that allows a user to independently and easily alter a portion of the system software of a numerical control device, and a numerical control device.;SOLUTION: A user function selector parameter is provided which, in the function unit of a function achieved by the system software, validates a user-created function in place of the process of the system software. The user function selector parameter is used to determine whether or not the user function is effective (step ST2). When the user function is determined not to be effective, the process of the system software is executed (step ST3).
