PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver capable of executing its own self-diagnosis processing, writing a result of diagnosis to an external recording medium by utilizing an existing interface and externally providing abnormity information related to the self-diagnosis processing.;SOLUTION: A self-diagnosis processing section 38 of the television receiver 30 executes the self-diagnosis processing when powered up and designation by a user or the like and stores the result to a built-in memory 40. Further, when detecting the external recording medium 50 inserted to a slot of an interface section 42, the self-diagnosis processing section 38 checks contents of the built-in memory 40, again executes the self-diagnosis processing when the result of the self-diagnosis processing recorded in the built-in memory 40 indicates abnormity, and writes the processing result to the connected external recording medium 50.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
