A Methodology for Self-diagnosis and Behavior Correction in Digital Television Receivers: Initial Concept

Digital television (DTV) receivers also suffer from software and hardware problems, which result in malfunction in user premises. The myriad of existing scenarios and conditions, e.g., third party libraries, operation environment, and network access, make zero-error unfeasible, which ultimately results in after-sales cost, and wrong configuration sent by broadcasters make such a scenario worse, due to unforeseen conditions. The present work tackles this problem and proposes a self-diagnosis and behavior correction methodology, which has the potential to keep DTV receivers working, when facing software and hardware errors or wrong configuration data sent by broadcasters.
