The use of an ileal bile acid transport (IBAT) inhibitor and the use of a combination of an IB AT inhibitor and an HMG CoA reductase inhibitor in the treatment of a warm-blooded animal, such as man, with hypercholesterolemia and/or other forms of dyslipidaemia wherein said hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidaemias are characterized by defects in lipoproteins or their receptors is described.
