The invention relates to a holster (10) which is intended for a handgun. The inventive holster is of the type that comprises a pocket (11) which defines a gun housing and which comprises a tilting element (20) for supporting the weapon. The aforementioned tilting element (20) can be moved vertically between an upper position and a lower position and can be pivoted between a retracted position inside the pocket (11) and a deployed position outside the pocket (11). The holster further comprises: means (40) for blocking the above-mentioned tilting element (20); means (55) for locking the blocking means (40); means for moving the tilting element (20) using the weapon, in order to pivot said element (20) from the deployed position to the retracted position; and means for holding the element (20) in the deployed position when the weapon has been removed.
