PURPOSE: To provide a method for treating NOx by simultaneously using ozone and a Mn oxide catalyst having excellent NOx treatment efficiency prepared by a new method, and a apparatus which is operatable at an ordinary temperature and treats NOx simply and economically. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for treating NOx using a catalyst, the apparatus for treating NOx using a Mn oxide based catalyst(40) and ozone comprises an ozone generation source(30) for injecting ozone into an ozone reaction chamber(20) communicated with an inflow port(10) through which a mixed gas containing NOx flows in; and a chamber(50) which is communicated with the ozone reaction chamber, and in which a Mn oxide based catalyst is stored, wherein the Mn oxide based catalyst is obtained by impregnating a support with a potassium permanganate aqueous solution, separating the impregnated support from the aqueous solution, drying the separated support and firing the dried support.
