PURPOSE: A magnetic element having an AFC(Anti-Ferromagnetic Coupling) film is provided to have a ferromagnetic structure comprising two ferromagnetic layers anti-ferromagnetically coupled, thereby increasing the magnetic moment of a lower side ferromagnetic layer by increasing anti-ferromagnetic exchange coupling strength between a fixed ferromagnetic layer and a free ferromagnetic layer. CONSTITUTION: The first and second ferromagnetic layers are ferromagnetically coupled with each other. The each ferromagnetic layer is formed with an alloy including Co. An AFC film is positioned between the first and second ferromagnetic layers. The AFC film is formed with an alloy made of Ru and Fe in order to remarkably increase exchange coupling strength between the ferromagnetic layers, and the composition range of the AFC film is Ru(100-x)Fe(x), where the x roughly is between 10 atomic wt.% and 60 atomic wt.%. A disk manufactured with the alloy made of Ru and Fe has a coercive force larger than the coercive force of a disk manufactured with Ru.
