APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GROWING PHOTONIC CRYSTAL BY ELECTRIC FIELD TO FORM PLURAL PHOTONIC CRYSTAL STRUCTURES WITH VARIOUS KINDS OF SIZES AND SHAPES
PURPOSE: An apparatus for growing a photonic crystal by an electric field is provided to form a plurality of photonic crystal structures with various kinds of sizes and shapes by repeatedly forming a photonic crystal structure of a high crystal quality in a desired region of a substrate while considering an electric field generated by a voltage and a polarity of a colloid particle. CONSTITUTION: A substrate(110) is prepared which includes at least one of the first and second electrode layers(112,114) in which the first and second polarities are formed by an applied voltage. A conduction part(140) is disposed in an end of a power supply so that a colloid solution in which colloid particles with the first polarity are mixed with a predetermined solvent at a predetermined ratio conducts to the second electrode layer. When the substrate including the first and second polarities is immersed in the colloid solution, a photonic crystal having a photonic band gap in a specific frequency region is grown only on a region of the substrate corresponding to the second electrode layer having the second polarity, wherein the first and second polarities are opposite to each other.
