PURPOSE: A device for compressing the apex coordinates of a 3D(Dimensional) image is provided to reduce a storage capacity while keeping a compression error within a preset range by compressing the apex coordinates of the 3D image comprising a triangular mesh. CONSTITUTION: A model pace conversion block(10) receives the apex coordinates(S1) and the connection information(S2), and converts it into the model space. A vector quantization block(20) divides the model space coordinates into constant regions, and vector-quantizes the model space coordinates by the representative vectors(S3) included in the region. A reorganization block(30) reorganizes an error to zero by adding error correction vectors(S4) if the error is out of the preset range by restoring the 3D image with the representative vectors(S3) and an index list(S5), and comparing the coordinates of the restored apex with the original coordinates.
