A supporting roll stand for billets -, preliminary block -, block -, preliminary section -, thin slabs - or slabs - continuous casting machines for the casting of molten metals, in particular of steel materials consists of roll segments (1.. 1n) with lower frame (3) and the upper frame (4), which, by means of pairs of pistons - cylinder - units (5; 6) are to be adjustable relative to each other and the sensors, a position sensor, pressure sensor, as a rule, the valve blocks and the like, with a remote control (8) are connected to the continuous casting plant. In order to reduce the cabling of the sensors, it is proposed that in each case on the upper frame (4) either a selected field bus - a system or a transmitter - and receiving module (9) for a bidirectional data transfer of the sensors with of the continuous casting plants - control (8) is provided.
