The invention relates to a measuring system for determining an absolute position of a wing moving along a rail of a sliding door with linear drive. There is provided a code band located in or on a long stator which is scanned across an optical scanning system disposed in or on the wing. A decoder determines an absolute position of the vane based on a signal output from the optical scanning system.
