The air intake system for an internal combustion engine (BKM) has an intake distributor and a vacuum reservoir (2) on the intake side of the engine to supply pneumatic actuators with driving energy. The underside of the vacuum reservoir is formed by one wall (3) of the intake distributor (1) and the upper side formed by a component part (4) associated with this wall. The air intake system represents a plastic shell system, whereby the wall is a shell wall and/or the component is a separate shell.
