PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cemented carbide made cutting tool with a hard coating layer to display excellent abrasion resistance in high speed cutting work of a heat-resistant alloy.;SOLUTION: This surface coated cemented carbide made cutting tool is constituted by forming a hard coating layer constituted of (a) an under layer having average layer thickness of 0.8 to 5μm and made of a composite nitride layer of Ti and Al to satisfy a composition formula:(Ti1-XAlX)N wherein X is 0.45 to 0.75 in atomic ratio, and (b) an upper layer having average layer thickness of 0.8 to 5μm and made of a composite boride layer of W and Cr to satisfy a composition formula:(W1-YCrY)B wherein Y is 0.10 to 0.40 in atomic ratio, on a surface of a cemented carbide base substrate made of tungsten carbide group cemented carbide or titanium carbonitride cermet.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
