METHOD OF DETECTING P-WAVE OF EARTHQUAKE MOTION, AND ALARM ISSUING METHOD BASED THEREON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of detecting a P-wave using a risk determination index value of an earthquake motion, and capable of providing an exact earthquake alarm using the risk determination index value of the earthquake motion.;SOLUTION: An earth motion is observed all the time, the risk determination index value of the earthquake motion is calculated using a horizontal motion and a vertical motion of the observed earth motion, the risk determination index value of the earthquake motion is also calculated using only the horizontal motion of the observed earth motion, and the P-wave of the earthquake motion is determined when a difference therebetween gets to a fixed value or more. The earthquake alarm more exact and quicker than that in the prior art is provided using only the the risk determination index value of the earthquake motion, since the alarm is able to be issued after confirming that the observed earth motion is the P-wave of an earthquake, even when exceeding an alarm level for the P-wave.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
