PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide carbon spherical nano-particles having one or more openings and a manufacturing method for the same, and a supported catalyst of carbon spherical nano-particles using the same carbon spherical nano-particles having one or more openings and a fuel cell employing the same supported catalyst of carbon spherical nano-particles. PSOLUTION: First, carbon spherical nano-particles are prepared, and carbon spherical nano-particles having one or more openings are manufactured by treating the prepared carbon spherical nano-particles with an acid to form one or more openings. The carbon spherical nano-particles having one or more openings have a higher utilization degree of their surface area compared with conventional carbon nano-tubes, have excellent electrical conductivity, and have small mass transfer resistance. Accordingly, even if a smaller amount of a metallic catalyst is used per unit area of a fuel cell electrode, higher current density and higher battery voltage are obtained. Further, the manufacturing method for the carbon spherical nano-particles having one or more openings manufactures carbon spherical nano-particles having one or more openings by a simple and efficient process.
